Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that zoo is no longer necessary and should be closed. However, I disagree with this opinion because zoos help to protect endanger animals and people get educated about wildlife. Although keeping in cage animals can be harmfull for them. I believed that well managed zoo can be more effective and play important role.
Firstly, zoos help to protect animals. Nowdays some of animal are losing there home because of deforestation and climate change. In zoos, animal having the proper meal, safe place to live and medical care. For example, some zoos are play important role to increase breeding number of endangered animals. For example, rare animals like pandas take this advantage from this programmes. As a result zoo can help prevent some animals from disappearing forever.
Secondly, zoos provide an excellent opportunity to learn about the wildlife of animals. Many children have never seen wild animals such as lions, tigers, panda or elephants in real life. By visiting zoos, they can learn about the animal behavior and understand there wildlife protection is important. This knowledge encourage them to more care about the nature and wildlife animals. In addition scientists can study animals in zoo and learn more about their behavior and health.
On other hand, some people argue that keeping animal in cages can be cruel because they can't move in there enviroment freely. I agree with this metter seriously. However instand, closing all zoos

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear at the start: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give relevant reasons about conservation and education. The examples of breeding endangered animals and children seeing wildlife help address the question. However, the response only partly develops the argument. The final paragraph begins to acknowledge the opposing view, but ends with “However instead, closing all zoos” and does not complete your response to it or provide a conclusion. This leaves your position and reasoning unfinished. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. Develop the counterargument and explain why well-managed zoos are preferable to closure, then finish with a concise conclusion that restates your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction followed by paragraphs on conservation, education and the opposing view. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “On other hand” help signal the main points. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph stops mid-sentence, so the argument has no completed ending. Some links are repetitive or awkward: “For example” is used twice in quick succession in the first body paragraph, and “However” appears in both the introduction and the unfinished final paragraph without a clear contrast being completed. References such as “This knowledge” are understandable, but the ideas would connect more smoothly if each paragraph developed one point and linked it explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “deforestation,” “climate change,” “endangered animals,” “breeding” and “medical care,” which allows you to discuss conservation and education. There is also some attempt to use more specific language, such as “animal behavior” and “wildlife protection.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts less natural, for example “proper meal,” “breeding number,” “wildlife of animals,” “harmfull” and “enviroment.” Repetition of “animals” and “zoos” also reduces flexibility. Build a small set of accurate topic collocations, such as “provide veterinary care” and “increase the population of endangered species,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and more complex forms, including a reason clause (“because zoos help…”) and a concession beginning “Although.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, plurals or verb forms. Examples include “zoo is no longer necessary,” “some of animal are losing,” “animal having,” and “This knowledge encourage.” The opening “Although keeping in cage animals can be harmfull for them” is also an incomplete clause, while the final sentence is unfinished. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and article use; then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete.
