Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main peak correctly: people aged 16–20 spend the most time online, with 19 hours for males and 18 for females. You also recognise that usage is lowest among people over 25, although this groups together several age bands with different figures. However, the response gives no specific figures or clear comparisons between males and females, and calling the 11–15 and 21–25 groups “average” is vague and does not accurately summarise their relative positions. The task is addressed only minimally, with no developed overview or supporting detail. The response is also 84 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to report the table’s key features adequately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, understandable order: it introduces the table, then mentions the highest-use group, the lower-use groups, and the remaining age ranges. The linking phrases “On the other hand” and “and” help connect these points, so the reader can follow the general message. However, the response is very brief and consists of only three sentences, with no developed paragraph structure or progression from an overview to supporting comparisons. The contrast introduced by “On the other hand” is also not fully explained with figures. To improve, organise the response into an introduction, a concise overview, and detail paragraphs that group age bands and compare male and female usage.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “average hours,” “age,” “sex groups,” and “online,” and the meaning is generally clear. There is some variation in how you refer to people, including “people,” “children,” and “adults.” However, the range is limited, and several expressions are imprecise or repetitive: “different European people of different age” repeats “different,” while “spend average time” does not clearly describe the figures. “Childern” is also misspelled. More precise table-reporting language would help you describe amounts and comparisons, for example “recorded,” “spent,” “higher than,” and “declined with age.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

Your sentences are mostly understandable, and you attempt a passive construction in “A significant amount of time is spent” as well as a contrastive sentence beginning “On the other hand.” However, the grammatical range is narrow, with mainly short, simple statements and little development of comparisons. There are errors in sentence patterns and tense: “people of age between 16 to 20” uses an awkward age-range construction, and “people more than 25 years old spent” shifts to past tense while the surrounding description uses present tense. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical link between its subject and the phrase “spend average time.” Use consistent present tense and practise structures such as “those aged 16–20 spend…” and “males spend one hour more than females.”
