Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the requirements of an Academic Task 1 report. Instead of summarizing data from the provided table, the text offers subjective, speculative commentary on the lifestyle of different age groups (e.g., 'they are waiting for death'). There is no attempt to report the actual figures or trends presented in the prompt. The response is entirely descriptive of personal opinions rather than analytical of the data. To improve, you must objectively describe the information shown in the table, highlighting the highest and lowest values and making clear comparisons between the age groups.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response lacks a logical structure. It is written as a single, long, run-on paragraph with no clear introduction, body, or conclusion. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'And second' to start sentences. The progression of ideas is confusing because the text focuses on personal assumptions rather than the data provided. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and specific details comparing the age groups, using a variety of linking words like 'in contrast' or 'whereas'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is very limited and informal, often relying on repetitive phrases like 'they are' and 'that's why'. There are numerous spelling errors (e.g., 'childrens', 'tahts', 'rationpf', 'itntersted') and incorrect word choices, such as using 'ration' instead of 'ratio' or 'proportion'. The language used is not appropriate for an academic report, as it lacks the precision required to describe data. To improve, focus on learning vocabulary related to trends and statistics, such as 'increase', 'decline', 'proportion', and 'significant'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammar is highly inaccurate, making the text difficult to follow. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, sentence structure, and punctuation. The text consists mostly of run-on sentences connected by 'and' or 'that's why', with a complete lack of complex sentence structures. Basic errors such as 'childrens' (plural of child is children) and '11 yo 15' (instead of 'to') occur throughout. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors in tense and pluralization.
