Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some key features, such as the highest usage in the 16-20 age group and the lower usage among seniors, the analysis is quite brief and lacks a detailed comparison of the data trends. The report is somewhat mechanical, listing figures rather than synthesising the information effectively. To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive overview and extend your analysis of the data points to meet the length requirement, which will allow for a more thorough exploration of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition 'Furthermore' is used, but the connection between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'The both gender' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences flow logically from one to the next without relying on simple list-like structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'spent average time' and 'spent same hours' are slightly unnatural. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'same nation' (which is not supported by the prompt) and 'the both gender'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a more varied range of vocabulary, including synonyms for 'spent' (e.g., 'allocated', 'devoted') and more precise terminology to describe the data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained consistent'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempts at complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The data given in numbers', 'more then female' (should be 'than'), and 'The both gender of age group of 16-20 spent'. Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparative structures. Proofreading for basic errors like 'then' versus 'than' and ensuring articles are used correctly will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
