Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the data and makes relevant comparisons. You successfully identified the trend where males spend more time online in younger age groups, while females spend more time in older ones. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary paragraph that highlights the most significant trends at a glance. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate; for instance, you mention the trend stops at 26-30, but the table shows a crossover point that could be described with more precision. To improve, ensure you group data logically and provide a clear, concise summary of the overall patterns observed in the data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. You rely heavily on comma splices to connect independent clauses (e.g., 'males spend 8 hours while females spend 6 hours, this pattern is collectively repeated...'). Using more varied cohesive devices such as 'consequently,' 'in contrast,' or 'furthermore' would improve the logical progression. The referencing is generally clear, but the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the text feel somewhat repetitive in its structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'hourly consumption' and 'age range.' However, there are some awkward phrasings such as 'age compositions' and 'later down the line,' which are not entirely natural in an academic context. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'resented' instead of 'presented' and 'earlier in live' instead of 'earlier in life.' To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and proofreading for spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation and sentence boundaries. Many sentences are run-on sentences or comma splices, which detract from the overall accuracy. For example, 'this pattern is collectively repeated right up to the age right up till 21-25 years of age, this trend is stopped...' contains unnecessary repetition and punctuation issues. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors occur frequently enough to impact the flow. Focusing on using full stops to separate independent clauses would significantly improve your score.
