Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to summarize the data, but there are significant issues with the interpretation of the figures. You have misinterpreted the data labels, referring to '2 to 3 years old' instead of age ranges (e.g., 31-50). Furthermore, the data points cited (e.g., '19 boys') do not accurately reflect the provided table, suggesting a misunderstanding of the graph's axes or units. While you identify some trends, the failure to accurately report the data points significantly impacts the task achievement. To improve, ensure you carefully read the axes and labels before drafting your response to ensure the information presented is factually correct.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In addition', 'Initially', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the progression of information is sometimes hindered by the inaccurate data reporting. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the logical progression of your argument is supported by accurate data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to describe trends and comparisons. You use terms like 'proportion', 'illustrates', and 'observed'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'number of total 19 boys' and 'use online websites', which sound slightly unnatural. There is limited use of less common lexical items. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'a significant disparity', 'the majority of', or 'a marginal difference', and ensure your collocations are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the lowest number of users are the older people' (subject-verb agreement) and 'male users are more compared to female users' (comparative structure). Punctuation is mostly correct, though there is an unnecessary apostrophe in 'similar''. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparative structures. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher band score.
