Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response provides an overview and attempts to report key features. However, the data presentation is inconsistent and lacks precision. For example, the statement that 16-20 year olds spend the 'maximum' hours is correct, but the description of the 11-15 age group is confusing, and the data for the 31-50 age group is misreported as '3' without clear reference to the specific gender or unit. The summary lacks a clear comparison of trends across all age groups, and some figures are presented without context, making it difficult for the reader to follow the data accurately. To improve, ensure all data points are clearly linked to their respective categories and avoid vague descriptions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Turning towards remaining information'). There are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'the youngsters men and women spend time on websites was 7 and 5 respectively', which lacks a clear subject-verb connection. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the overall coherence of the report. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun referencing would significantly improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. While there is an attempt to use topic-specific language like 'digital platforms' and 'cyaspace', there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'district' instead of 'different', 'citires' instead of 'citizens', and 'utilixd' instead of 'utilized'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'the youngsters men and women', which is not standard English. The range is just adequate to convey the basic meaning, but the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors prevent a higher score. Focusing on accurate terminology and proofreading for spelling would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response relies on a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but these are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The male are utilixd less time') and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence construction is often fragmented, such as 'In last senior citires used less hours for internet both gents ad ladies.' These errors are frequent and occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb forms, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions in descriptive writing.
