IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The table compares the average number of hours that European male and female in different age groups spend on the Internet.

Overall, it is clear that young people spent significantly more time online than older people. Additionally, males in most age groups are used more internet than female, although this pattern was reversed among older adults.

The highest amount of Internet was used among 16-20 years of Males. they spent 19 hours in online, Female spent 18 hours in online in same age. The second highest amount of internet was used in age at 11-15 here also Males spent 8 hours in online. Female spent 6 hours. In age 21-25 Male spent 7 hours and Female spent 5 hours.

In constant, Internet usage declined sharply with age. For males, the time dipped 4 hours in age 26-20. for male and female spent 4 hours same in 26-30 years old. females spent constant at 4 hours in age 31-50. 2 hours for the 51+ male group and 3 hours for female.
