IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table illustrates the average hours spent on the internet by European citizens as per the age group and sex.

Overall, it is evident that the individuals aged 16-20 years spent more time on internet while those with 51 years above use few hours online.

The males aged 16-20 years recorded 19 which was the highest figures. This was followed by those aged 11-15 years and 21-25 years, each recording 8 and 7 respectively. In comparison, the males with 51 years and above recorded only 2 which was the lowest figure. This was followed by those aged 31-50 years and 26-30 years, each recording 3 and 4 respectively.

As per the females, those in the age bracket (16-20) were 18. This was followed by those aged 11-15 years and 21-25 years, each filling 6 and 5 respectively. On the other hand, the people aged 51 years and above were only 3 while those between 26-30 years and 31-50 years had only 4 figures each.
