Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the data but fails to provide a clear overview or a logical selection of key features. While it mentions age groups and gender, the description of the data is inaccurate and confusing. For instance, stating that 16-20 year olds spend 'nineteen to eighteen' hours on the internet is unclear, and the claim that males spend more time than females is a broad generalization that lacks specific supporting data points from the table. The response lacks a clear summary of the trends, focusing instead on isolated and somewhat disjointed observations. To improve, you must ensure your data reporting is precise and that you provide a clear, analytical overview of the main trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, appearing as a single block of text. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Similarly', the logical progression of ideas is weak. The introduction is repetitive, and the transition between the description of age groups and the comparison of genders is abrupt. The lack of paragraphing makes the response difficult to follow. To improve, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and body paragraphs that group related data points together logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'lifespan' used to describe age ranges, 'male personals', and 'internet media'. The term 'europeon' is a spelling error, and 'ussage' is also misspelled. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the frequent errors in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band. You should focus on using more precise terminology for data description, such as 'the highest proportion', 'a significant disparity', or 'the age bracket'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the internet', 'the Europe region'), subject-verb agreement ('Table represents', 'knowledge assist'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are simplistic, and the attempt at complex structures often results in errors, such as 'Major time contributed by the majority of europeon civilians ranked in age group...'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
