Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the high usage among adolescents and the decline in older age groups. However, the reporting is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the phrase '14 hours on internet at their age between 11 to 15' is slightly unclear, and the grouping of data could be more precise. While you have identified the main trends, the lack of a clear overview or a more structured comparison between the genders makes the analysis feel a bit disjointed. To improve, ensure you clearly highlight the most significant differences and similarities rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Moving towards', but the transition between the data points is abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Above 20 age group was used internet', which lacks a smooth connection to the previous point. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, logical progression of ideas rather than just a sequence of data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'utilised maximum hours' and 'similar trend was observed' are good attempts, but there are errors in collocation and word choice, such as 'tabulating chart' instead of 'table' or 'tabular chart'. Additionally, the phrasing 'who aged about 31 to 50' is awkward. To improve, try to use more varied synonyms for 'spent' and 'internet usage' and focus on more natural collocations to describe statistical trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'spent 14 hours on internet at their age between 11 to 15' (missing articles and awkward prepositional usage) and 'Above 20 age group was used internet' (incorrect passive voice construction). The sentence structure is mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, particularly the use of articles ('the internet') and correct verb tenses when describing data. Increasing the variety of complex structures will also help improve your score.
