Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main trends and making relevant comparisons between age groups. You successfully highlighted the peak usage in the 16-20 age group and the subsequent decline in older demographics. However, the overview is slightly weak; while it mentions the general trend, it could be more precise by explicitly contrasting the younger and older cohorts as the primary feature. The data is generally accurate, though the phrasing '26 to above 51' is slightly awkward. Overall, the response provides a clear summary of the information presented in the table.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group the data by age trends. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the high-usage groups from the lower-usage groups. Cohesive devices such as 'Conversely' and 'Finally' are used to guide the reader through the data. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the referencing could be smoother. For instance, the connection between the sentences in the third paragraph could be improved to avoid a list-like feel. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'recorded', 'usage', 'trend', and 'reduction'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'average data of hours spend' (should be 'average hours spent') and 'used equally 4 average hours' (should be 'spent an average of 4 hours'). While you attempt to use varied vocabulary, some phrasing is slightly repetitive or unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on more precise collocations and avoid grammatical errors in word forms, such as using 'spend' instead of 'spent'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions, such as 'people having age between 11 to 25' (should be 'people aged between 11 and 25') and 'as compare to' (should be 'compared to'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy in basic grammar would significantly improve your score.
