IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The above table illustrates, the average hours spent on the internet by European people of different age groups.

Overall, the people between 16-20 age groups are spending more hours on internet and people with 51+ age are spending less hours on internet.

The people between 11-15 age are male spend 8 hours and female spend 6 hours on internet. The next is the highest age group 16-20 using internet males are spending nearly 19 hours and females are spending 18 hours on internet. The 21-25 age males are spending 7 hours and females are spending 5 hours on internet.

The next is the age group between 26-30 males and females both spend same time on internet which is 4 hours. The age group 31-50 male spend 3 hours and females spend 4 hours on internet. The last is the age group with 51+ it spends the less time on internet which is nearly male spend 2 hours and females spend 3 hours only. We can see that only age group 16-20 is using internet more than any other age group
