IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given table show's us the information about the hours spent on internet and media by Europeans of different age.

The table begins with young children under (11-15) years of age. Boys of this age spent more time on social media which is around 8 hours while the females of this age spend an average of 6 hours a day. Then comes the teenagers from age (16-20), holds the highest record of spending time on social media which is 19 hours for males and 18 hours for females.

Then comes the elder ones of age (21-25), people of this age group are often mature enough to know about their responsibilities and often don't waste their time on social media, For example: males of this age group spend an average of 7 hours while females spend 5 hours on social media. Then there are the adults from age 26-30 who have an average spending of 4 hours on socials.

Then there are the elders from age 31-50 or 50+ who spend an average 3 hours for males while females a little more then males which is 4-3 hours.
