IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table above illustrates average hours spent on internet by European people of different both age groups . According to the data people in late teenage from 16 to 20 years spend most of the time on internet with 18 hours for females and 19 hours for males . However , as the age increases the number of hours spent on internet decreases for both men and women , for instance people in early adulthood ranging from 21 to 25 years spend 7 hours for males and 5 hours for females where as people in late adulthood ranging from 26-30 years spend 4 hours on internet for both men and women . In addition, middle aged people ranging from 31 to 50 years use 3 hours for men and 4 hours for women . Furthermore, old age people 51+ use the least hours on internet with 2 hours for men and 3 hours for females. On the other hand, children transitioning from childhood to teenage spend moderate time on internet with 8 hours for men and 6 hours for females .
