IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given table presents the time spent on the internet by Europeans men and women in 6 different age groups.

In general, the both genders from 16-20 years were the highest while from 51 years showed they used the internet the least. Also, 26-30, maintained the same time on both sex.

From 11-15 years, European boys spent 8 hours on the internet while their female counterparts spent 6 hours. The following age group which is from 16 years to 20 years recorded the highest time spent browsing with 19 and 18 for the male and female respectively.

Condescending, those within the ages of 21-25 used only 7 hours by the men and 5 hours by the females. 26-30 years old stood as the age group with the same proportion of time used on the internet by both genders, each with a total of 4 hours spent. The 31-50 years old European men spent only about 3 hours while the females about 4 hours as well. Spending the barest minimum of the time on the internet, the 51+ recorded a total of 5 hours in a day with the men at 2 hours and the women at 3 hours.
