Student answer (Band 5.0)
The table provide data about average hours spent on the internet by European people of different age groups
There are 7 different age group of European people who spent hours on internet. However age group 16-20 are the highest user of internet whereas age group or we can say the old people above 51 years of life span have lowest number
The table shows different between male and female user in each but in the age group of 26-30 shows same number of user spent hours on internet and also age group between 31-50 also share same number but the difference of one number make it different as 4 for female and 3 for male
Furthermore age group between 11-15 have good number where 8 male and 6 female spent hours using internet and age group between 21-25 male spent more hours on internet then female with number differences of 2

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends effectively. The description of the data is fragmented and lacks a professional tone. While the student identifies the highest and lowest age groups, the reporting of specific figures is often confusing or inaccurate (e.g., 'the difference of one number make it different'). The response lacks a clear structure, and the data is not presented in a way that allows for easy comparison. To improve, you should group the data logically, provide a clear summary of the main trends in the introduction, and ensure that all figures are reported accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow. There is no clear logical progression; the ideas are presented in a somewhat disjointed manner. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and also' and 'furthermore' without proper sentence structure. The referencing is often unclear, making it hard for the reader to identify which age group or gender is being discussed. To improve, you must organize your report into distinct paragraphs (Introduction, Overview, and Body Paragraphs) and use a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'spent hours on internet' and 'number of user' are used repeatedly, which restricts the range of expression. There are also inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'life span' to describe age groups and 'good number' to describe data points. The language lacks the precision required for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, try to use more varied terminology to describe trends, such as 'the highest proportion,' 'a significant difference,' or 'remained stable,' and avoid informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The table provide'), missing articles (e.g., 'on the internet'), and awkward sentence construction. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and punctuation is inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, including correct subject-verb agreement and the appropriate use of articles. Practice combining simple sentences into more complex ones using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions.
