Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. The description of the data is often confusing, such as stating 'the percentage of the 11-15 which stood 8', which lacks clarity regarding units or context. The comparison between age groups and genders is disjointed, and the information is presented in a way that makes it difficult for the reader to grasp the overall trends. Key data points are mentioned, but they are not synthesized effectively to highlight the main differences or similarities between the groups. The response struggles to present a coherent summary of the provided information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'After word', 'Main while', and 'After that at last'. These transitions do not effectively link the sentences or ideas. The referencing is also unclear, making it difficult to follow the comparison between the male and female groups. The structure feels repetitive, and the lack of clear signposting makes the information difficult to follow. The overall arrangement of information is not sufficiently logical to support a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'edvert' (evident), 'domenated' (dominated), 'yeras' (years), 'weaked' (weakened), and 'countinusly' (continuously). The word choice is often inappropriate for an academic report, using informal terms like 'folks' and 'dipped' without clear context. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the data precisely, and the errors in spelling and word choice occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are frequent issues with sentence structure, such as 'the usage of internet compareson between the male and female in different ages ages' and 'the usage of internet more less which is4'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are consistently problematic. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are almost always faulty, leading to confusion. The punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces and incorrect placement. The frequency of errors is high, which significantly impacts the readability of the text.
