Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the data, but it fails to clearly identify or report the main features. The description of the data is confusing and inaccurate; for instance, the mention of '8 hours' for males and '2 hours more than their counterpart' is unclear, and the final paragraph is disjointed, making it difficult to follow the trends. The data is not presented in a logical or accurate manner, and the comparison between age groups is poorly developed. To improve, you must ensure that the figures cited accurately reflect the provided table and that you clearly group information to highlight key trends rather than listing numbers in a confusing sequence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices like 'Apart from this' and 'Moving towards' is somewhat mechanical and does not effectively link the ideas. The final paragraph is particularly problematic, as it contains fragmented information that is difficult to interpret. Referencing is often unclear, such as in the phrase 'in case of female it count to be less', which lacks a clear antecedent. To achieve a higher band, focus on using transition signals more naturally and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'allocate to the internet' (should be 'allocated to') and 'male people' are unnatural. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'it count to be less', which impedes the clarity of the report. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey basic information, it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher score. You should aim to use more precise terminology for describing data, such as 'account for', 'a significant proportion', or 'a marginal difference', to improve the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder communication. Examples include 'average hours allocate to the internet' (should be 'allocated'), 'in case of female it count to be less' (should be 'for females, the figure is lower'), and the fragmented sentence structure in the final paragraph. There is a lack of control over complex sentence structures, and basic errors in subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are common. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and article usage.
