Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the peak in the 16-20 age group and the general decline in internet usage among older groups. However, the analysis is largely a list of figures rather than a cohesive summary. The overview is missing, and the comparisons are somewhat mechanical. The reporting of data is accurate, but the lack of an introductory overview and the tendency to simply list numbers without identifying broader trends or significant patterns limits the score. To improve, you should group the data more effectively and provide a clear summary of the overall trends at the beginning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized by age group, which provides a basic structure. However, the paragraphing is fragmented, with almost every sentence starting a new line. There is a lack of cohesive devices; the text relies on repetitive sentence structures ('males spent', 'females spent') rather than linking words or referencing. The progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the lack of an introduction or conclusion makes the overall flow disjointed. Using transition signals like 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', or 'Conversely' would significantly improve the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the same phrases, such as 'spent on internet' and 'aged people'. There is little attempt to use a range of vocabulary to describe trends or data points (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'peaked', 'declined'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent grammatical errors in word choice (e.g., 'aged people' instead of 'people in the age group') prevent a higher score. Expanding your vocabulary to include synonyms and more precise reporting verbs is essential.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('on internet' instead of 'on the internet'), incorrect verb tenses ('spend' instead of 'spent'), and awkward phrasing ('11-15 aged people'). The sentence structures are very simple and repetitive, lacking the complexity required for higher bands. Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex structures.
