Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, such as identifying the 16-20 age group as the highest consumers. However, the report is somewhat mechanical, simply listing figures for each age group rather than synthesizing the information effectively. The overview is present but lacks a clear comparison of trends across genders, and the final sentence is inaccurate, as the data shows females spend more time in the 31-50 age bracket. The analysis is somewhat repetitive, and the lack of a clear, analytical summary of the overall trends limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'Looking at the detail' and 'Moreover' are used, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas feels like a list of data points rather than a cohesive report. Improved use of linking words and better paragraph transitions would significantly enhance the logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is significant repetition of phrases such as 'spent ... hours on internet' and 'age of'. The student struggles with collocations, such as 'lowest to spent the hours' and 'all ages of male is highest hours'. There is little attempt to use less common vocabulary or synonyms to describe the data, which keeps the lexical range at a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Age consist of', 'all ages of male is'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures ('the age of 26-30... is the lowest to spent'). While the student attempts some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. The punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and spacing. A focus on basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement is necessary.
