Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends effectively. The description of the data is fragmented and lacks precision. For example, stating 'male and female in the little bit difference' is vague and does not accurately convey the comparative data. Furthermore, the response misses key trends, such as the overall decline in internet usage as age increases. The information is presented in a disjointed manner, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the main features of the table. To improve, you should focus on identifying the highest and lowest values and grouping data logically rather than listing individual points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While transition words like 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' are used, they are often applied incorrectly or do not logically connect the ideas. For instance, 'On the other hand' is used to introduce a point that is not a contrast to the previous one. Referencing is also problematic; the phrase 'European humans' is unnatural, and the lack of clear cohesive ties between sentences makes the text feel like a list of isolated observations rather than a cohesive report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and often inaccurate. The use of 'European humans' is inappropriate for an academic report; 'Europeans' or 'European individuals' would be better. There is significant repetition of phrases such as 'average hours spent on the internet' and 'age groups'. Some word choices are confusing, such as 'increase male as a compare to female', which lacks the necessary precision to describe statistical data. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including synonyms and more precise terms for describing trends, such as 'fluctuate', 'decline', or 'remain constant'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'male has decrease hours', and incorrect sentence structures, such as 'the average hours spent on the internet maximum male age groups'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you use appropriate prepositions and articles.
