Student answer (Band 6.5)
The table gives information about the average hours spent on the internet by european people of diffrent age group, and it is an acctually good thing for the Devloping nation.
Overall, people aged 16–20 spend by far the most time online, while those aged 51 and over spend the least. Internet use generally decreases with age after the 16–20 group. Males spend more time online than females in the younger age groups, whereas the opposite is true among people aged 31 and above.
Looking at the figures in detail, males and females aged 16–20 spend 19 and 18 hours online respectively, making this the highest level of Internet use recorded. The 11–15 age group ranks second, with males spending 8 hours and females 6 hours per week. Among those aged 21–25, the figures fall slightly to 7 hours for males and 5 hours for females.
Internet use is considerably lower among older age groups. Both males and females aged 26–30 spend an average of 4 hours online. In the 31–50 group, females continue to spend 4 hours, while the figure for males drops to 3 hours. Finally, people aged 51 and over have the lowest usage, at 2 hours for males and 3 hours for females.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response effectively summarizes the main features of the data. You have successfully identified the key trends, such as the highest usage among the 16–20 age group and the general decline in internet usage as age increases. You also made relevant comparisons between genders across different age brackets. However, the introductory sentence contains an irrelevant personal opinion ('it is an acctually good thing for the Devloping nation'), which is not supported by the data provided. In Task 1, you should strictly report the information presented in the prompt without adding external commentary or opinions. Aside from this, the overview is clear and the data is accurately reported.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and two body paragraphs that group the data effectively. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You have used cohesive devices such as 'while,' 'whereas,' and 'in contrast' to link your points. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the general trends from the specific data points. The flow is smooth, and the referencing is clear throughout the text, which helps the reader navigate the information without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the data, such as 'respectively,' 'recorded,' and 'considerably lower.' However, there are some spelling errors, such as 'diffrent' and 'Devloping,' and a minor grammatical slip with 'acctually.' While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'spend time' or 'figures' to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You have used comparative structures effectively, such as 'Males spend more time online than females... whereas the opposite is true.' There are some minor errors, such as the missing article in 'on the internet' (should be 'the internet') and the capitalization error in 'european.' Despite these small slips, the majority of your sentences are error-free, and your control over punctuation and sentence structure is generally strong, allowing for clear and accurate communication of the data.
