Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, such as the highest and lowest usage groups. However, the reporting is somewhat disjointed and contains factual inconsistencies. For instance, you mention the 26-30 and 31-50 groups are 'least engaged,' but then correctly identify the 51+ group as the lowest. Additionally, the description of the 21-15 age group is confusing due to the typo in the age range. While you attempt to make comparisons, the lack of a clear, structured overview and the inclusion of inaccurate data points prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure you group data logically and double-check your figures against the source.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often mechanical. The use of cohesive devices like 'However,' 'Whereas,' and 'Moreover' is present, but they are sometimes used incorrectly or to connect ideas that do not logically follow one another. For example, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when discussing the age groups, which makes the progression of information feel repetitive rather than analytical. Improving the logical sequencing of your points would significantly enhance the readability of your report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'average hours' and 'age group.' There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'significant time as male' and 'usage ratio in male and female.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated control. Expanding your range of reporting verbs and descriptive adjectives would help elevate the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the age bracket 51+ uses the least internet with male and female with 2hours and 3 hours' and '21-15 year age group.' There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While the meaning is usually discernible, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over more complex sentence forms. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence structure will help improve your accuracy.
