IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table provides data about how much time is spent on the internet by different age people in Europe.

Overall, the number of people who spent most of their time on the internet are teenagers, while older people accounted for the minimal use of social media. The time spent on the internet decreases as the age increases.

The majority of social media use is seen in people aged between 16 to 20 years, with 19 males, and 18 females, whereas least time experienced by old age people above 51 years, with 2 males, and 3 females.

The second ones who spent their most time on the internet are between 11 and 15 years of age, with 8 males and 6 females. There are people whose age is in between 21 and 25 years represented for 7 boys and 5 girls spent their major time on the internet. 25 to 30 years people showed equal contribution by male and females which is 4 from each group. This is how internet use decreased as the age increased.
