Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Because the response is only 72 words, it is severely underdeveloped. It fails to provide a comprehensive overview or a detailed analysis of the data provided in the table. While it attempts to identify the highest and lowest figures, the lack of depth and the failure to cover the task requirements mean it does not address the prompt fully. To improve, you must provide a clear overview, group data logically, and ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with sufficient detail to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response lacks a clear structure. It consists of only two very short paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences or ideas together, making the text feel like a collection of isolated statements rather than a cohesive report. To improve, you should use linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') to connect your points and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as an introduction, an overview, and specific data comparisons.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'the highest number of' and 'spent on the time with' are imprecise and grammatically awkward. There is no attempt to use a range of vocabulary suitable for describing data, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuation', or 'significant trend'. To improve, you should learn topic-specific vocabulary for IELTS Task 1, such as verbs and nouns used to describe trends and comparisons, and avoid repeating simple words like 'people' or 'ages'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Examples include 'people who aged between 11 -51 above' and 'spent on the time with internet'. The sentence structures are simple and often incomplete or incorrectly formed. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions. Practice writing full, grammatically correct sentences before attempting more complex structures.
