Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the highest and lowest usage groups. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear, professional overview. While the prompt asks for comparisons, the reporting is often mechanical, simply listing numbers rather than synthesizing the information. For instance, the statement 'these two groups dominate the Data' is a good attempt at synthesis, but the overall summary is hindered by inaccurate phrasing like 'we can saw that'. To improve, focus on grouping data more logically and ensuring that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing individual figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Continuing with it' and 'here at 21-25 groups' are unnatural and do not effectively link ideas. The progression of information is somewhat disjointed, particularly in the final paragraph where the comparison becomes confusing. To achieve a higher band, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Consequently') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'use', 'groups', and 'data'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'most internet used by the group' instead of 'highest internet usage' and 'lowest use of age internet'. The phrasing '16 other age groups' is also confusing and inaccurate based on the provided table. To improve, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'significant', 'fluctuation', and 'age demographic', while ensuring that collocations are natural and accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('we can saw that'), incorrect preposition usage ('use of internet by the 31-50 of people groups'), and sentence structure ('the information where age group of 16-20 used most internet'). The writing relies mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb-object order, and practice using articles and prepositions correctly. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for moving to a higher band.
