Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. The student includes personal opinions and speculative reasoning (e.g., 'it is the time to teach the basic lessons of life') which are not present in the data and are inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report. Furthermore, the data interpretation is inaccurate; the student describes trends that do not align with typical data presentation, and the summary is largely descriptive rather than analytical. To improve, focus strictly on the information provided in the chart and avoid adding external commentary or subjective interpretations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is unclear and often illogical. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent, incorrect use of 'Butt' and 'AT'. The referencing is sometimes confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between age groups and genders. The lack of clear logical flow between the introduction, body, and conclusion hinders the overall coherence of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'tabel', 'writtenn', 'Butt', 'beacuse') and word choice issues (e.g., 'used of internet' instead of 'internet usage', 'age factors' instead of 'age groups'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. The student relies on basic, informal language that does not meet the requirements for an academic report. Expanding the range of descriptive verbs and nouns related to data analysis is essential.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the used of internet is written', 'the numbers of man are more'), incorrect pluralization, and misuse of prepositions. Sentence structures are simple and often fragmented. Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent capitalization and missing spaces after periods. The lack of control over basic sentence construction significantly limits the clarity of the writing.
