Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main features of the data, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the trends. The information is presented as a list of data points rather than a cohesive analytical report. To improve, you must include an introductory overview that highlights the most significant trends (e.g., the peak in the 16-20 age group) and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more detailed comparison of the data provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is mechanical. You rely heavily on simple listing rather than using cohesive devices to link comparisons between age groups. For example, the transition 'Anyhow' is inappropriate for an academic report, and the lack of linking words makes the text feel disjointed. To improve, use a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'in contrast,' 'similarly,' or 'whereas' to connect your sentences and create a smoother flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is repetitive and limited, relying heavily on basic terms like 'spent,' 'hours,' and 'internet.' There is little attempt to use academic vocabulary or synonyms to describe the data. Phrases like 'at decrease rate' are grammatically awkward and imprecise. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more varied verbs and nouns to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated,' 'declined,' 'peaked,' or 'remained constant,' and ensure you use collocations correctly, such as 'spent time on the internet' rather than 'spending time of males.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'males uses' instead of 'males use') and article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. The punctuation is also inconsistent, such as the comma splice in the first paragraph ('...18 hours,Anyhow...'). To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and practice combining simple sentences into more complex structures using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions.
