Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You covered all age groups and made relevant comparisons between genders. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, you stated that 21-25-year-old males spent 7 hours, while the table shows a different figure, and your description of the 31-50 age group is slightly confusing. To reach a higher band, ensure that your data extraction is precise and that you group information more logically to highlight trends rather than just listing figures. The overview is present but could be more analytical by focusing on the broader patterns of internet usage decline across age groups.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' to link your ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the general overview and the specific data points is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the sentence 'both male and female whose age are 26 to 30 spent identical amount of time on internet, respectively', where the missing data point makes the sentence incomplete.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the data clearly. You use terms like 'illustrates', 'register', and 'identical amount'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'highest spending hours on the online' (should be 'time spent online') and 'virtual media' (which is not the standard term for the internet). To improve, try to use more precise academic vocabulary and avoid repetitive phrasing. The range is sufficient to communicate the main points, but it lacks the sophistication required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'adolescents... they are spent' (should be 'they spend') and 'whose age are 26 to 30' (should be 'whose ages are' or 'aged 26 to 30'). Additionally, there are errors with articles and prepositions, such as 'on internet' (should be 'on the internet'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules.
