Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided relevant comparisons. You covered all age groups and both genders, which is essential for a high score. However, the overview is slightly simplistic. To improve, ensure your overview highlights the most significant trends, such as the peak usage in the 16-20 age group and the general decline with age, rather than just stating that men spent more time overall. While you included data, some of your comparisons could be more analytical by grouping the data more effectively rather than listing figures for every single age category.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In particular', 'Oppositely', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. For instance, the transition between the 11-15 and 16-20 age groups could be smoother. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally repetitive, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Both male and female'. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and improving the logical progression between sentences would help elevate your score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the information clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'age category' and 'dominated'. However, there is a lack of variety in your word choice, and some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'male dominated the opposite gender'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations. For example, instead of repeating 'spent time', you could use 'devoted hours to', 'usage peaked at', or 'recorded figures of'. Your spelling is accurate throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'Men has spent' (should be 'Men have spent') and 'both genders... has spent' (should be 'have spent'). Additionally, there are minor errors with articles, such as 'on the internet by male and female... in the Europe'. Improving your control over subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
