Student answer (Band 5.0)
The tabular representation of given data illustrates number of usual internet working hours by male and female American Citizens.
On the whole, the table shows variation in figures. However, the internet users are at its peak during teen age.
According to the table, the highest number of users are almost 20 males and 18 females aged 16 -20. Then figures considerably fall up to 7 men and 5 women at age of 21 to 25.
On the other hand, numbers remain constant for both genders till 30 years. Then, it represents slight decrease of less than one or two people using online apps who are above 50.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the content is inaccurate; the prompt refers to 'European people,' but the response discusses 'American Citizens.' While the response attempts to identify main features, the analysis is superficial and lacks the necessary detail to fully cover the data provided in the table. The failure to reach the minimum length and the misinterpretation of the subject matter prevent a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'On the whole' and 'On the other hand,' the transitions between sentences feel mechanical and sometimes disconnected. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively group the information in a way that guides the reader through the data logically. The brevity of the text makes it difficult to establish a clear, coherent progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases such as 'tabular representation of given data' and 'figures considerably fall' are used, but there is a lack of variety in describing trends. The misuse of 'American Citizens' instead of 'European people' is a significant error in lexical accuracy. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands, and the word choice is often basic or imprecise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response relies on simple sentence structures. There are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'internet users are at its peak' (should be 'their peak') and 'teen age' (should be 'teenage'). The phrase 'it represents slight decrease' lacks the necessary article 'a'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of complex structures and the presence of frequent minor errors limit the score. The control over basic grammar is inconsistent.
