Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all age groups and makes relevant comparisons, which is a strength. However, the task achievement is limited by inaccurate reporting of data. For instance, you mention '19 in male category' and '18 in female' for the 16-20 age group, but the data provided in the prompt is not clearly interpreted. Furthermore, the description of the 11-15 age group as '8 and 6 hours' is confusingly phrased. The overview is present but lacks clarity, and the data selection is somewhat mechanical rather than analytical. To improve, ensure that figures are accurately transcribed and that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused. Phrases like 'Remaining data shows that' and 'The seniors are the last evidence of table' are unnatural and do not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'in it both category use internet', which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') would significantly enhance the flow and logical progression of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several inappropriate word choices. The use of 'masses' to refer to age groups is incorrect in this context, and the term 'apes' to refer to seniors is highly inappropriate and confusing. There is also a lack of variety in reporting verbs and descriptive language. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'demographic', 'proportion', 'fluctuate', or 'significant', and avoid informal or inaccurate terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'both category use'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the internet used by 11 to 15 age group of people are 8 and 6 hours'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
