Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the main features of the table, but the analysis is often unclear or inaccurate. While you identify the 16-20 age group as having high usage, the description of other groups is vague (e.g., 'moderate amount'). The comparison between genders is confusingly phrased, and the data points mentioned do not clearly reflect the trends shown in the table. To improve, you must focus on selecting the most significant data points and describing them with precision, rather than using vague descriptors like 'moderate' or 'lowest'. Ensure that the information provided is factually accurate based on the visual data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'From male' and 'Subsequently' are used incorrectly or in a way that does not help the reader follow the comparison. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult to determine which data point refers to which group. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'similarly', 'whereas') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic phrasing like 'using internet' and 'spent their time'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'the spent of hours' and 'can less able to spent'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'consumption', 'proportion', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable', and avoid repeating the same verbs throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('the majority of internet is using by male'), incorrect verb forms ('can lowest spent'), and awkward sentence structures. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences that lack complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of passive voice for data reporting and correct tense usage. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for achieving a higher score.
