Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The student has failed to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, as the response contains only 71 words and cuts off mid-sentence ("Among males, figure stood at"). Consequently, the response is severely under-developed and addresses the task only partially. While the student correctly identifies the general overview and trends (highest figures in the 16 to 20 age group and lower figures in older groups), the lack of completion and failure to present data from the table prevents proper task fulfilment. According to the descriptors, this falls under Band 4 due to the minimal and incomplete nature of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some logical organisation in the opening sentences, featuring an appropriate introductory paraphrase and a clear overview signalled by cohesive phrases such as "Overall, it is clear that" and "It is also clearly seen that". However, because the text stops abruptly after just a few sentences and fails to form a complete body paragraph, paragraphing and overall progression cannot be fully evaluated. Cohesive devices are used reasonably well in the introduction, but the truncated nature of the response restricts it to a Band 5 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used in the opening sentences is adequate for the task, featuring appropriate phrases such as "compares the percentage", "age groups", and "broadly similar pattern". There are a couple of spelling errors, such as "femlaes" and "genreally", but overall the lexical items are minimally adequate to convey basic meaning. The student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary related to data description. However, due to the very limited output and vocabulary range presented, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates control over some basic sentence structures, such as "The table compares the percentage..." and "it is clear that the highest figures were recorded...". There are minor errors, including missing articles ("in the age 16 to 20 age group") and repetitive phrasing ("It is also clearly seen that"). Because the response cuts off mid-sentence, the range of grammatical structures is extremely limited. Nevertheless, the clauses that are completed are grammatically sound, supporting a Band 5 rating.
