The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table provides data about the average hours spent on the internet by European individuals of various age groups.

Overall, Internet usage peaks in the age of 16-20, by both male and female. Whereas, at the age of 51+, they spent very low average as compared to others.

Adolescents aged 16-20 are the heaviest users, with males averaging 19 hours and females 18 hours per week. This is more than double of the next usage of group, 11-15 year-olds, where boys spend 8 hours and girls 6 hours.

For young adults, aged 21-25, usage drops sharply to 7 hours for boys and 5 hours for girls. Meanwhile, In the group of 26-30, both genders spend 4 hours. Whereas, people from age group of 31-50 had a slight decrease in males, which is 3 and females remained the same at 4. Lastly, age group of 51+ males reached at 2 while females at 3.
