Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student covers all parts of the task by reporting the main features from the table and making relevant comparisons across different age groups and genders. An overview is successfully provided in the second paragraph, highlighting that the 16-20 age group spent the maximum hours online, while the 51+ group recorded the lowest. However, there are minor numerical inaccuracies in the detailed body paragraph; for instance, the text states that for the 11-15 age group 'male spent more than 2 hours comapring from women with 6 hrs', whereas the table shows males spent 8 hours and females spent 6 hours. Despite these minor discrepancies, the overall trends are accurately identified and supported with data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is arranged into a logical structure consisting of an introduction, an overview, and a detailed body paragraph. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as 'Overall', 'According to the table', and 'Afterthat'. However, paragraphing could be improved by separating the detailed age comparisons into more than one body paragraph to enhance readability. Furthermore, some cohesive links feel mechanical or awkward, such as 'wheras from the age of 16-20 years children both gender has highest hours spent in internet comparing other aged group', which affects the overall fluidity of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully using terms such as 'durations', 'invested', 'elderly people', and 'screentime'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the response, such as 'durations invested by european individuals', 'devoted their maximum hours of time in online platform', and 'has devotee their time'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'comapring' and 'wheras'. These limitations restrict the score to Band 5.5, as the lexical control lacks precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'The average durations... is illustrate', 'children who spent their time in online male spent', and 'both gender has highest hours'. Punctuation is also poorly managed, with spaces incorrectly placed before commas and periods. While communication is not entirely impeded, the high frequency of grammatical slips prevents the response from reaching Band 6.0.
