IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The tabular representation demonstrates the data about average time spent on the internet by European people of various age groups.

Overall, people aged 16-20 spent considerably more hours on internet as compared to other age groups. Moreover, time spent on internet generally decreased with age and females above 31 usually spent more time on suffering than males.

Males from age 11-15 spent average 8 hours per week as compared with 6 hours for females. Number of hours were highest recorded in age group between 16-20 where men spent approximately 19 and women use it for 18 hours. However, figure dropped sharply and preference fell continually from 7 hours for males and 5 for females during age group 21 to 25. It is observed that both genders from age between 26-30 spent 4 hours on its usage.There was a steady drop in the usage of internet from 31-50, number reached 3 for males and 4 for females. Nevertheless, people above 51 spent least time internet.
