The table displays the average hours that European people spend on the internet.
In the cursory glance the table demonstrates 3 coloumns. The first column represents the age groups ranging from 11 to 51 and above years old.The other two column display the number of females and males across the respective age groups that spend their time on the web.
Initially there are 8 males and 6 females for the first age group from 11-15 years old. There are 19 males and 18 females for the second age group of 16-20 years old, making it ultimately the age group with highest proportion.
There are 7 males and 5 females in the respective third age group of 21-25 years old.
Furthermore there are equal number of male and females which is 4 in the fourth age range of 26-30 years old.Additionally there are 3 males and 4 females in the category of 31-50 years old. Finally, there are 2 males and 3 females in the last age category of 51 and above years eventually ,making it the age group with least amount of people choosing to spend their time on internet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student attempts to cover all parts of the data, reporting figures for various age groups and genders from the table. An overview is attempted at the end of the text by identifying the highest and lowest age categories, though it lacks a distinct introductory summary paragraph. While the student successfully extracts and contrasts specific figures (e.g., '19 males and 18 females for the second age group'), there is a tendency to mechanically list almost every row of the table rather than effectively selecting and reporting only the main features and making broader comparisons. The data is accurately represented, but the lack of a proper overview placing the data in a wider context limits the score to Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response shows some logical organisation, moving systematically through the age brackets from youngest to oldest. However, the paragraphing is poor, as the bulk of the body text is squashed together without clear structural division. Cohesive devices are either missing or used mechanically, with repetitive sentence openings such as 'There are' and 'Furthermore there are'. Referencing and logical progression are occasionally disjointed, especially with phrasing like 'In the cursory glance the table demonstrates 3 coloumns' which reads like an unhelpful meta-commentary rather than a smooth introduction. These cohesion issues and lack of appropriate paragraphing place this text firmly in the Band 5.0 range.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic description, incorporating terms like 'proportion', 'category', and 'age groups'. However, the range is limited, and the student relies heavily on repetitive phrasing (e.g., repeating 'there are' numerous times). There are also notable lexical and spelling errors, such as 'coloumns' instead of 'columns' and awkward phrasings like 'spend their time on the web' or 'least amount of people' (instead of 'smallest number of people'). The lexical control demonstrates an adequate range for the task but contains noticeable flaws, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are often basic or clumsily constructed. There are frequent punctuation and capitalization errors, such as missing spaces after periods (e.g., 'age groups. The other', 'years old. There are') and incorrect comma placement. Errors in subject-verb agreement also appear, as seen in 'equal number of male and females which is 4'. While communication is not severely impeded, the accumulation of grammatical inaccuracies and punctuation slips prevents the response from achieving a higher band.
