IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table illustrates the information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Overall, male and female between 16-20 used more internet. However, age above 51+ used internet less than others while male and female between age 26-30 used internet as a same number.

To begin with, male between 11-15 years spent 8 hours on internet while female spent 6 hours by same age. Males who were 16-20 spent much time on internet approximately 19 hours then, hours declined slightly by 7 hours in male between 21-25 further declined to 4 hours between age 26-30. Age between 31-50 spent 3 hours in internet however, 51 above spent less time about 2 hours as compared to other age group males.

Subsequently, females who were 11-15 spent 6 hours on internet while this time drastically increased and reached to 18 hours in age between 16-20 this was highest hours by female who spent on internet. 21-25 aged female spent 5 hours where 26-30 years female spent 4 hours this hours remain constant in age 31-50 then decreased to 3 hours in above 51 years females.
