IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table provides the information about average hours depleted on internet by European individuals of varying age group.

Overall, the substantial hours are spent by the 16 - 20 years olds on the internet and the minimal hours is spent by senior citizens who are more than 50 years old.

On the first hand, both male and female of age group 16 - 20 are spending a considerable time on the internet. While male are spending 19 hours, female are outlying 18 hours on the internet. The second most hours are expended by much younger age group of 11 - 15 years old. Apparently male of this age group are spending 8 hours while the female are spending 6 hours on the internet.

Beyond this, male and female of rather older age group are expending less time on the internet. Male of age group 21 - 25 are spending 7 hours on the internet. On the other hand women of this age group are depleting 5 hours ont the internet. However, men and women of age 26 - 50 are seemingly expending average 4 hours on the internet which is much lower from the younger generation. Additionally individuals older than that are depleting lesser hours on the internet with an average of 2 hours for male and 3 for female.

Ultimatly, youngsters of age 16 - 20 age group are spending the most amount of hours on the internet while older generation of age group higher than 50 is depleting the least amount of hours on the internet.
