IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table compares the average time spent on the internet by the males and females of six different age groups in Europe.

Overall, people aged 16 to 20 spent significantly large amount of there time on internet compared to other age groups. Whereas, it is least common in people aged above 51.

Usage of internet is most popular in both the males and females aged 16 to 20. They spent 19 hours and 18 hours respectively over the internet which is comparatively equal to eachother. 8 hours and 6 hours are spent by the males and females aged 11-15 respectively, which is significantly less then the age group of 16-20.

7 hours are spent over the internet by the males aged 21 to 25 and 5 hours by the females of the same age group. The people aged 26 to 30 spent 4 hours over the internet. The same amount of time is spent by the females aged 31 to 50 whereas the males of similar age group are seem to spend only 3 hours over the internet. The usage of internet is least common in people aged above 51, 2 hours by males and 3 hours by the females.
