IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The tabular illustration depicts the average internet usage time (in hours) of europe citizens of different age groups.
It can be seen clearly that in age group of 11 to 15 males spend 8 hours per day on internet. The opposite gender spends 6 hour on the same. Moreover, male of age 16 to 20 wastes 19 hours on internet in a day, while females of same age group accounts for 18 hours on internet in a day. Afterwards, mens of age 21 to 25 had an average of 7 hours on internet usage and women had 5 hours of screen time on internet in a day.
Meanwhile, both males and females of age 26 to 30 used internet for 4 hours each. Meanwhile, males of age 31 to 50 used internet for 3 hours a day, females have same figure as age 26 to 30. Lastly, after the age of 51 men uses internet for 2 hours and women use for 3 hours.
All in all, It is apparent that youngsters males and females uses internet the most in a day, especially 16 to 20 age group. However, in respect to the age the usage of internet tend to decrease in both the gender.
