IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table illustrates the information about the average time spent in hours on the Internet by European residents of six distinct age groups.

Overall, the people who belong to 16-20 age group was spent maximum number of hours on Internet among all others. In contrast, lowest time spent on Internet was people who aged above 50.

To begin with, the male from 11-15 age group spent 8 hours while female from this age used Internet for 6 hours. 19 hours was spent by male of 16-20 age on Internet whereas women accounted for 18 hours average use of Internet. A men and women aged 21-25 accounted for 7 and 5 hours respectively using Internet.

Furthermore, the average time spent on Internet by male and female from 26-30 age group is 4 hours each. Meanwhile, average usage dropped slightly to 3 hours in male users from 31-50 age group and women usage remained the same as 26-30 age group. The usage of internet further declined by 1 hour in for both male and female who aged 51+.
