IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The table shows data about the average hours spent on internet by european people of different age brackets.

Overall, Male spent more time on internet browsing then female. Male of 16 to 20 leading the table by spending most hour on internet surfing followed by female of same age group. After an age of 51 people spent very less time on internet. while the age between 26 to 30 both men and women spent equal time.

In the early age from 11 to 15, Male group spent only 8 hours on internet, while as the child grow, they spent 19 hours on internet when they are in between 16 to 20 age, which is the most time in any age group. However the time fluctuate and it decrease to 7 hours in age group of 21 to 25 and it kept on decreasing to 4 hours for 26 to 30 year age bracket and as they get older it reduces to 2 hours.

In female most of the time in diiferent age bracket remain constant except the teenage. Female from 11 to 15 spent 6 hours. however between 16 to 20 years of age similar to male, female also spent more time than any age group , which is 18 hours. The time reduces significantly between 21 to 25 year of age to 5 hours. In the age group of 26 to 30 and 31 to 50 it remain constant to 4 hours and it goes down to 3 hours for women older than 51.
