Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The student attempts to address the prompt by discussing the provided table regarding internet usage across age groups. However, the response contains significant factual errors and misinterpretations of the data. For instance, the text claims that people in the 21 to 50 age group showed an increase in hours spent, whereas the actual table shows that internet usage declines steadily from the 21-25 age bracket onwards, dropping to 3 and 2 hours for males and 4 and 3 hours for females in the older categories. Furthermore, the descriptions are heavily burdened by irrelevant personal commentary and speculation (such as mentioning specific designer brands like 'Gussi' and 'louis vitioun'). Consequently, the main features are not accurately reported or compared.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response exhibits severe issues with coherence and cohesion. The essay is poorly structured, featuring abrupt and arbitrary divisions such as 'To the first part of graph' and 'To the second part of the graph'. Paragraphing is highly erratic, with run-on sentences and isolated fragments. Cohesive devices are either misused or absent, and referencing is frequently unclear ('the one graph by different ages of group using internet'). There is no logical progression of ideas, making the overall arrangement very difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The lexical range is very limited and inadequate for an Academic Task 1 response. The student relies on basic vocabulary and commits numerous spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'Euorpeon' instead of European, 'spenfing' instead of spending, 'buissness' instead of business, and 'muture' instead of mature. Furthermore, inappropriate informal expressions and incorrect collocations ('ratio of males', 'mostly 18 hours using of females internet') severely restrict precision and impede clear communication throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The student attempts some complex structures, but these are almost invariably faulty, resulting in ungrammatical clauses and tangled syntax (e.g., 'calculated that how much time spending on internet by female' and 'thats why spending hours of these age of people gradually increased'). Punctuation is frequently misused, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Errors are pervasive and constantly strain the reader, preventing the successful delivery of accurate sentence patterns.
