IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

European citizens of different ages spend an average time scrolling internet and the trend in the given chart shown, the time of using internet varies amoung different age groups in males and females.

The teenagers in both male and female have an increased trend of spending their time on the internet. There could me many reasons for that but the most common reasons are addiction of social media and doom scrolling. The Gen Z is intensively involved in the lucrative trend of posting and sharing content online.

As we see the table, people from 21 to 50 years of age in both males and females have less interest in the usage of internet. The reason for this is that, those people are busy in earning their livelihood and surviving. The spend much less time on social media and prefer to mind their on business.

Furthermore, people above 51 years of age have been found less motivated towards the usage of internet. They prefer to spend their time with their families or reading a novel. spending time with friends in discussions.
