IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table gives information about the average hours spent on the Internet by European people of different age groups.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The table illustrates the average weekly hours that European males and females of three different age groups spend on the internet.

Overall, it is clear that individuals aged 16-20 spend more time on the internet, regardless of gender. In the age group of elder people 21-25 allocates fewest time on the internet. Additionally, males spend slightly more time on the internet then females.

Looking for the youngest demographic, European males aged at 11-15 spend an average of 8 hours on the internet per week, which is two hours more than the females of the same aged group at 6 hours per week. At the teenage both the genders have their highest internet ussage per week, males at 19 hours and females at 18 hours per week. Now, in the age group of 21-25 males have 7 hours of internet ussage, and females haven 5 hours per week.

In the age group of 26-30 both males and females have the equal hours of the internet ussage. And in the older age of 31-50 males have less hours of ussage then females, and in 51+ in this also males have only 2 hours of use and female with 3 hours.
