Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student covers all parts of the task well, selecting and reporting the main features of the table. A clear overview is provided in the second paragraph, identifying the 16-20 age group as the highest users and those aged 51+ as the lowest. The writer also attempts to make comparisons and note general trends, such as stating that 'as the age increases their internet average usage has significantly declined as well.' However, there are minor inaccuracies in data reporting; for example, the student writes '8 male users and 6 male users' for the 11-15 age group instead of comparing males and females. Despite this minor slip, the overall trends and key data points are adequately captured.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, overview, and body details. Cohesive devices and transition signals are used, such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', 'then', and 'so as the people', though some cohesive links feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The logical progression is generally maintained, moving from the overview to a detailed breakdown of the age groups, although the sequencing within the body paragraph crams multiple data points together without optimal structuring.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'illustrates', 'regardless of gender', 'online users', and 'significantly declined'. However, there are some noticeable vocabulary and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'age between 16-20 regardless of gender has spent' (awkward phrasing) and 'the lowest age group who uses internet'. Spelling is generally accurate, but the lexical range lacks flexibility and precision, placing it solidly within Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional or relative clauses ('who are only 2 males and 3 females'). However, there are several grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as 'different age of European people', 'age between 16-20 ... has spent', and subject-verb agreement issues like 'the online users has increased'. Punctuation is basic. While these errors occur regularly, they rarely impede overall communication, allowing the reader to understand the intended data points.
