Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the main parts of the task by reporting the key features and making relevant comparisons from the table. An overview is successfully attempted, identifying the peak age group of 16 to 20 for internet usage and the lowest usage among those aged 51 and over. However, some parts are underdeveloped or slightly imprecise. For instance, the statement that females in the 31 to over 51 group spend more time than males contains slight confusion regarding the exact categories, as the table separates 31-50 and 51+. Furthermore, while key figures are cited, the explanation of trends lacks full extension across all categories, placing this criterion firmly at the level of addressing all parts adequately while leaving certain ideas partially developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement and attempts logical sequencing by grouping the data into overview, general trends, and specific figures. However, the progression is sometimes disrupted by awkward paragraphing and mechanical transitions. Phrases like "Where as" and repetitive sentence openings create a choppy flow. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun usage and transitions between age brackets, resulting in a somewhat disjointed structure that lacks smooth progression throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to convey the basic information required for the task, with attempts at less common lexical items such as "decreasing trend" and "variation". However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including "yaers", "comapred", and the awkward use of "by average" instead of "on average". While these errors do not completely impede communication, they reflect a limited and developing lexical control that prevents the writing from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in prepositions and articles, such as "in the Europe" and "in age group from 16-20 years". Subject-verb agreement and modifier placement also show inaccuracies, such as "European male in age group" lacking pluralization and articles. Punctuation errors, including stray periods and comma splices, are also present. These errors require some effort to decipher, though communication is rarely completely blocked.
